James is now in the Air Force

UPDATE 07/19/2008James is doing much better. He earned base liberty the other day and called home. His school has been approved and he will leave Tues after his graduation on the 8th. He is trying to up his running speed so that he can win some kind of award they have. He realizes they are not just yelling at him only now. So this is good. He has fallen into the routine of Basic training. He says he can eat a complete meal in two minutes tops. That is with desert. So I don't have to worry anymore about all of that for now anyway. He actually seems to be enjoying it some. Must be a lot different than Marine boot camp. I can honestly say I didn't enjoy any part of it except Graduation. I loved that part. So thanks for all of the prayers.

Well it’s been an interesting week. Last night I finally had a chance to sit down alone and make my peace about Ed and Glen dying. I got my guitar out and played and sang some old country songs right by myself. Ones that I had sang with Glen and did me some good old fashioned crying.

Both hips are now replaced and one knee has been cleaned of debris so why should he have pain. He will need to get used the both hips working but had wonderful therapy in the Transitional Unit. He is independent...goes up stairs, takes showers, dresses himself, puts on shoes and those support hose all by himself. My biggest job is cooking again.

James To Graduate Friday

James Will Graduate from Air Force Basic training this Friday so no Posts from me for a couple of days as we head off to Texas tonight. Yippy Skippy for Texas.! It is only 97 there today :(. On the good side, James was selected as the Honor Grad for his flight. I will write more about that when we get home. The new web site is coming along very nicely and should be a vast improvement over the old one. If you don't have a blogger account with google you really need to get one. It would help with the content part of the newspaper and cut down on my edit time tremendously. You will notice that you have to be logged in now to leave comments. Had to do it. Spammers were taking over. If you don't remember your password there is a lost password link on the front page underneath the log in section. It will be sent to your email address on file.
