Fishing Escambia Bay

Fishing_escambiaCapt. Billy (my brother in law) took us guys fishing today on Pensacola Bay. We had a really good time! I am lucky to have such a fine Brother in law. One who also has a nice boat! Plus... he knows where and how to catch Red Fish! He took Me, Jon and Joe out just a short way from the dock and in a little while, fish were coming up everywhere!

We caught them on dead shrimp. No live ones were available. No telling what we could have caught with live shrimp. We were able to keep 4 fish before a nasty storm ran us off and back to his dock. We kept 1 pompano and 3 reds. One Red fish caught earlier was 31 inches so we had to throw him back. This is a very hard thing to do for us river fishermen, but we did it anyway.

Everything went fine except somebody lost part of one of Billy's reel into the bay. I am not saying who, but they should be very ashamed of themselves. Also, Joseph lost one big Red when he got tangled on the anchor, bummer.

Thanks Bill for the great day fishing!

Terry
