God Gave Me A Horse (but mom made me give him back)
As a small child, Mom and I were together all the time. She was a good friend to me and tried to nurture me in ways of faith and the world. Like any good mother, she worked on my self esteem. Which is where the "You can be, or do, anything you want in life son. If you pray hard, have faith, and work hard, everything is possible" speech originated. |

Thanks, Terry, for saying a word or two about Newton Petty. Hopefully, the next time, either Dan Padgett or I will be called to get more particulars. Angus Newton Petty was named for Mr. Angus Green, who owned a general store in Darlington for many years. The Greens and Padgetts were longtime friends. Angus nGlennRidddle was also named for Mr. Green, as I endeavored to say when Glenn passed away. Newton was the last to leave us of the eight children born to Mattie Padgett and Herbert Eugene (U… Continue Added by Terry on June 15, 2009 at 1:05pm — 1 Comment Feature Joe and I went fishing here is picture of some of the Drums we caught. They posted the grades today. He called and said he passed his school! We are very proud of him. The school is not easy and some people didn't pass, some were recycled. James felt bad for them. Now he goes on to Texas for his next school. He is very relieved that this part of his training is over and for a while did not think he would make it. It was harder than he expected. I knew he could do it though, he is very… Continue Added by Terry on April 9, 2009 at 8:04pm — 1 Comment |

This young trooper Pvt. William Long age 23 is Dead. Shot by a Muslim fanatic. For the last two days I have looked for information on the shooting of our troops in Little Rock Arkansas. A Muslim man shot two service members outside a recruiting station. His justification was payback for the alleged mistreatment of his Muslim, brothers. I have not seen the article in the Pensacola news journal because it has not been on the front page and it is not on the web site. They seem to have just ignored it.

Well we are going to try again. This time we are going to use an application from ning. It will allow all of you to join a process very similar to facebook only it is just for relatives. It gives more flexibility than face book I think. You are not restricted on the links to your business or pictures you want to upload.

Capt. Billy (my brother in law) took us guys fishing today on Pensacola Bay. We had a really good time! I am lucky to have such a fine Brother in law. One who also has a nice boat! Plus... he knows where and how to catch Red Fish! He took Me, Jon and Joe out just a short way from the dock and in a little while, fish were coming up everywhere!

Jennifer came a week ago and we had a little fishing trip on the Blackwater River in Milton. Here is Emma with her prize catch. Jennifer wanted the kids to go fishing with me and Dad. I guess mostly because it is part of her childhood memories. We get to see the kids so rarely that I afraid they won't have too many of us here.So Dad and I loaded up the boat and grandkids and headed out toward memory land on the Blackwater river. |

I don't know why there is a bee picture in this article. Last week, I went to see my eye Doctor. Now, just so you'll know... I have a wonderful Ophthalmologist! She is a competent, attractive, fit woman with the most pleasing of mannerisms. While I was there, she told me about healthy Cucumber Water. |
